Hermann holds a special place in my heart. It is the most picturesque little German town on the Missouri River. There are several wineries and bed and breakfasts of all kinds, making it the perfect location for a weekend getaway – or weddingAndrea and Justin were married at Stone Hill Winery, one of my favorite locations. The winery sits high on a hill overlooking Hermann, and between the gorgeous old buildings and grapevines it’s a wedding photographer’s dream. These two were stunning together and especially kind and fun to work with!
Catherine and Addisson were married in Sedalia this past June. Their wedding ceremony was at Broadway Presbyterian Church, and goodness… it was beautiful! The woodwork in that church is amazing. Afterward, everyone gathered for their reception at the Sedalia Country Club and had the best time. These two are stunning, and so much fun! Thanks to Sara Cantrell for doing a beautiful job of shooting with me for their big day

It’s been a few years since I’ve done a “best of” post, and now I remember whyThanks to my incredibly indecisive brain, it took me a lot longer than I’d like to admit to choose a few favorites from each of my weddings this year. Going back through these images did remind me just how much I love the variety in my clientele… how each and every wedding and couple is so different from the last. Thank you so much to all of my wonderful couples for the opportunity to document your big day! Ten years as a wedding photographer, and sometimes I still can’t believe this is my job. Happy New Year, guys!
Sometimes I think I wait so long to blog weddings because it means they’re really over. That’s especially true for this wedding in particular. Stephanie and Gabriel are so kind, funny and warm – and I wish I could photograph their wedding every weekend. Their friends and family were nothing short of amazing to work with as well. Looking back through these makes me smile that big, silly grin that I can’t help but get when I’m working. Thank you both so much for having me photograph your big day

Their wedding at the Palmer House Stable in Solon, IA (near Iowa City) had the most perfectly thought out details.
Rye bread, sprinkled with salt as part of a Polish wedding blessing. I think it was pretty tasty
Amanda and Dustin are the sweetest couple! If I’ve photographed your wedding in St. Louis, you may recognize Amanda – I’ve had the pleasure of having her shoot with me a few timesI was thrilled when they asked me to photograph an anniversary session for them while they were on vacation at Lake of the Ozarks. They are both amazing photographers with a beautiful fine art quality to their work, and great models, too!
