Erica Turner bio picture

I am a photographer, wife to a great guy, and mom to 2 awesome kids (whom I will feature on the blog from time to time, of course!). My roots are in graphic design, so I love nothing better than to tell your story through photographs. I really love what I do, you will probably catch me smiling a big cheesy smile behind my camera... I once heard a bride say "she giggles when she's getting the good stuff!". So be prepared to relax and have a great time, let me worry about the photographs, and rest assured you will have some amazing images to treasure. I work in a mostly candid manner, with some posing here and there.  Give me a call (417-839-3501) or send me an email (erica@turnercreative.net) anytime - I'd love to talk with you!! You can also find me on facebook or twitter.

Megan and Josh ~ Wedding, Lemont, IL

I had the opportunity recently to travel to Lemont, IL - just south of Chicago, to photograph Megan and Josh’s wedding at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. I’d been looking forward to meeting them in person for quite a while - and wasn’t surprised that they were just as great in person as they had been via email. Their friends and family were so nice as well. When I asked Megan to describe how she wanted her wedding photos to feel - she said “Basically, our color scheme is every 7 year old girl’s dream.” And she was absolutely right! I love the combination of pinks and purples and soft, vintage feel of all the details. Thank you both!!

Published: Maggie and Zac in The Knot Chicago

I was thrilled when I found out that Maggie and Zac’s Galena, IL wedding would be featured in The Knot Chicago. But I was blown away when I got my copies and saw their FOUR PAGE SPREAD in the Real Weddings section. Eeek! Maggie and Zac, with the help of friends and family, put so much time, thought, and work into their wedding; I am so happy The Knot chose to feature it this way!

Dave and Angie ~ Elephant Rocks Engagement Session

I have a severe love/hate relationship with “sneak peeks”. I love them, because I am always super excited to get couples a glimpse of their photos, but hate them because I always (ALWAYS) forget to post the rest of the images. This is one session I did NOT want to forget, and of course I did forget… so much, much later - here are the rest of Dave and Angie’s engagement photos. I think this is the most amazing location I’ve ever been asked to photograph engagement photos. Elephant Rocks is sort of in the middle of Missouri, near Johnson’s Shut-Ins. Dave and Angie are both photographers, as well - and are getting married this fall in St. Louis. Can’t wait to see them again!!

Featured

A few weddings and other sessions have been featured on some of my favorite blogs/websites lately. I think these bloggers are amazing for taking the time to share weddings with the rest of the world - and making them look beautiful in the process! Also, I think it’s fabulous inspiration because in most cases you actually get to read - in the brides own words - about the planning process, how she felt about her wedding day as well as a few tips on making your day easier.

Scott and Lisa ~ English Castle Wedding

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a sneak peek of Scott and Lisa’s wedding at Old Wardour Castle in England. Here are the rest of the photos - there are probably way too many - but we had a great time, and it was hard to narrow it down any further. If you are looking for a fabulous wedding photographer in Dorset, or anywhere for that matter, you will want to take a look at Lisa’s portfolio. And if you are in need of a new custom website - definitely check out Scott’s work.

Almost all of the details were handmade by the couple!

Megan’s Bridals ~ Springfield MO

You may remember Kevin and Megan’s e-session from awhile back. We met for her bridals a few weeks ago in Springfield, at the Historic Firehouse on Commercial Street. Megan is a talented artist, and is creating tons of the wedding stuff herself. Can’t wait for the wedding in July!!
